Honey, You are Too Much

I forgot Barbie rolled so large. I don’t remember where it came from but I had it for pretty much the whole of my childhood.  The trunk opened and if you dropped it on your foot you were damn well going to know it. If I ever have a little girl she has to have one.  Has to.

I still want to be Barbie.  Sigh.

Shopping: Maurices

I recently made a fairly large purchase from Maurices and they were nice enough to include a ton of 20% off coupons.  I feel obliged to used at least a couple of them.   Or maybe more than a couple depending on what kind of mood I'm in.   I'm head over heels for this top

it screams spring to me.  I'm thinking pants, khaki skirt, or even with skinny jeans and flats.
And this dress is lovely

I dig the retro vibe.  Also very springy. (The weather went back on its promise of pending summer.  All that cash on getting the AC fixed and it gets cold again.  That's about right.)

(This is not a sponsored post.  I just really like Maurices.  I feel their price points/styles are somewhere between fast fashion chains like Forever 21 that feel too young (and everything is too freakin' short) and "adult" brands like The Limited.  Pretty perfect for where I am right now.)

Trying Times

You guys mind if I unload a little?  I'm beyond stressed right now.  The job is switching from government to contract and at the moment I'm not terribly sure I'll have a job next month and if I do I'll likely be taking a drastic pay cut.  I understand that thems the breaks.  That's just the way things are going with the current economic climate.  That doesn't make this unsure period any easier.  I just want the powers that be to make the call and can me or own my pay check or whatever it is their going to do.

So what's a girl to do when she's feeling glum?

Buy a dress.

If it doesn't fit I may have a full scale melt down.  Fingers crossed for me k?

Shopping: Must Have

I yearn.  I pine.  I lust.  I do other things that imply how badly I want to see these boots in my closet this fall.

They’d look good traipsing around London right?

Gotta Get Out of Here

River Island Union Jack T-Shirt  $24.86 via ASOS

I know you’re not supposed to wear a band tshirt to a concert but can you rock a Union Jack tshirt while capering about in London?  Why do I ask?  I bet you already guessed.  Gonna tell you anyway.  This lucky duck may get to take a little trip out of the continental US.  One of my closest pals is taking a very important life step and offered me a chance to come provide some moral support while she does so (curious about awesome pal? Check her out).  And of course after all the grown up stuff is accomplished I’ve been assured there will be touristy fun and possibly karaoke.  So. Freaking. Stoked.

Granted, this isn’t a for sure yet.  I’ve got the boy about 87% on board (I’ve promised to sell shoes.  If that’s not a sign of dedication to the cause I don’t know what would be) but there’s some work/funding matters that have to be resolved before I’ll know for sure.  Fingers crossed for me!

Shopping: Bribery

I'm having quite the hard time getting motivated to go to the gym lately.  I don't know if it's the heat or stress or what but lately when gym time rolls around the little devil on my shoulder starts pleading a pretty good case.  Convincing that one is.  So I've decided I need some motivation.  Motivation in the form of a pretty dress.

Five days a week for two weeks.  Ten days of hitting the gym or hitting the streets and that lovely will be mine.  Now I just gotta shut the little guy with the horns up.
